Special Build #7
The Antares is a SLO inspired amp but not a clone. The clean channel is based on a Fender AB763 circuit. It starts with a .063" 5052 aluminum chassis in which the tube sockets and stand offs are mounted, the heaters, wired, and the circuit boards populated. The difference from the Antares production model is the standoffs are a different type and the power supply circuit board is 1/8" instead of the standard 3/32" which I typical use.
The PT is an NOS Chicago Transformer PV-110. The specs are pretty much equivalent to what I use in the production models. 350-0-350, 6.3-0-6.3, 150ma. The choke is a Stancor C-1710 7-hy @150 which is actually bigger than the production. The OT is a new Heyboer HT-9427 which was purchased from PRS off eBay a few years ago. The OT is very similar to the production OT, the impedance is alittle higher which will work well with 6:6GCs or EL34s.
Face plate and rear plate are installed with all pots, switches, and jacks. Differences from the production model in the phase of the build are different knobs, large toggle switches have a smaller "bat" and the mini toggles are a different brand that I have discontinued. The 11A Switchcraft jacks are the shorter thread instread of the long thread that I currnetly use.
In a black cab now but can also put it in a white cab. Please note the lower left corner of the chip in the plate. Comes with a two button footswitch.
