The Procyon is the little sibling to the Antares, which is based on the legendary SLO. It is a 20-watt (with JJ6V6s) or a 30-watt (with 5881s) one-channel amp with multiple tone-shaping capabilities. The circuit is similar to the SLO but has several changes to improve tone and versatility. It achieves that rich ultra-high-gain distortion but can be dialed down to sweet crunch and clean tones to the point where you would not recognize it as an ultra-high-gain amp. The fat, saturation, response, and crunch-lead front panel switches make this amp versatile for a wide range of tones. With lower wattage than the Antares, the Procyon will give you plenty of power tube breakup without punishing your spouse, children, or neighbors too much, but it can easily cut through the mix at a gig.
